Robert had a private education at the Bruce academy in
Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Robert set up a company in partnership. He constructed the Conway
railway bridge. He constructed
the high street level bridge in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
In 1833 he was chief engineer for the London Birmingham railway.
Robert Stephenson's company built a large proportion
of the world's early locomotives.
