Robert Stephenson

Robert Stephenson was born on 1803.

He died on 1859.

Robert had a private education at the Bruce academy in
Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Robert set up a company in partnership.  He constructed the Conway railway bridge. He constructed
the high street level bridge in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

In 1833 he was chief engineer for the London Birmingham railway.

Robert Stephenson's company built a large proportion
of the world's early locomotives.

 

He made a rocket that was famous because it went 29 mph
and they thought that was fast.

The Rocket had a boiler and the design carried on to 1960.

Robert Stephenson would have been much more famous if he didn't work with his father.

He also worked with Brunel.

Robert Stephenson made the Menai bridge, a Rocket and two railways.
